Diggers and Dealers Forum

Platform Communications plays an important role in supporting clients such as BHP Billiton Nickel West and Perilya Limited at the annual Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

The Diggers and Dealers forum is the most important event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, combining presentations by listed mining and exploration companies with a large exhibition area housing exhibitors from the mining, exploration and service sectors.

The forum delegation is made up of mining and exploration companies, brokers, bankers, investors, financiers and representatives from the mining service industries. A large media contingent ensures the proceedings of the forum are widely reported.

In 2007, Platform managed both BHP Billiton Nickel West and Perilya Limited's representation at Diggers and Dealers.

Platform designed and produced stand-out professional exhibition booths for both companies and managed all logistics for the event.

The Platform team produced briefing packs for all BHP Billiton and Perilya Limited personnel, outlining individual itineraries and information to ensure the delegates were able to effectively communicate with the forum's media contingent.

Platform produced speeches and presentations for the President of BHP Billiton Nickel West and Perilya Limited's Chief Executive Officer to deliver to some 1,700 forum delegates. 

Platform developed and managed social functions on behalf of both clients throughout the three-day forum. These highly successful functions enabled delegates from various organisations to interact on a social level, facilitating industry networking opportunities.

The Platform team provided continued support to both BHP Billiton Nickel West and Perilya Limited at the Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum in 2008.
