Our Principal Consultant, Kirsty has 16 years’ experience in the corporate communications and public relations arenas. Kirsty has worked as an in-house consultant for BHP Billiton, Woodside Energy and Alcoa. She provides strategic communications and issues management advice to our clients, who often consider her an extension to their in-house team. Kirsty’s grasp of strategic communications concepts, combined with her personable manner, ensure the smooth running of all communications programs at Platform.
Lynda is a senior communications professional with significant experience in the Western Australian resources sector. Lynda has provided high level strategic advice and counsel to executive and non-executive board members, CEO’s, executive management and project teams for a range of ASX-listed and private companies, state government agencies and small to medium enterprises across the mining and oil & gas sectors. Her experience includes working both in-house and as a consultant for organisations such as Newmont, WorleyParsons, Hess Australia, Woodside and Barminco Mining Services.
Tony is a senior corporate affairs practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience in management and advisory roles in the oil and gas, mining and banking sectors.
He has held senior communications and stakeholder engagement roles at South32, Woodside Energy, the Chamber of Minerals and Energy and Bankwest, and more recently has provided consulting services to medium-to-large oil and gas developers and operators in the areas of government, community and media relations.
Tony is quick to understand situational context and applies a business-focused approach to managing public risks and issues. He is a strategic and analytical thinker with an eye for fit-for-purpose communications solutions.
Known for thinking outside the box, Lisa cuts straight to the core of any issue to explore often unthought-of solutions with an independent, non-biased approach. Her 30-year career has led her to specialise in creative storytelling, developing and implementing new narratives, reinvigorating stakeholder relationships, strengthening social investment partnerships and working with Indigenous Australians.
Lisa has worked in-house for State environmental and resource government agencies, The West Australian newspaper, Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation and large mining companies including WMC Resources and Rio Tinto. Lisa has also supported existing teams to implement creative and strategic communication solutions at Argyle Diamonds, Woodside, Alcoa, Catholic Education WA, DOME, WAGPET and Edith Cowan University.
An author and publisher, Lisa writes non-fiction books aimed at educating Australians about important social issues.
Matt is a communications professional with 30 years’ experience in stakeholder relations in the resources and oil and gas sectors. Following management roles with the State Government and Rio Tinto, he has provided in-house advice and consultancy to ASX-listed clients including Quadrant Energy, BHP, Newmont, Resolute and Rio Tinto, and worked in the emerging lithium sector. A qualified construction engineer and technical journalist, his broad experience in building and maintaining strategic stakeholder engagement is underpinned by strong technical writing and editing skills.
Our Manager, Leanne has more than 16 years’ accounting experience including tenures with Rio Tinto and Dampier Salt. She has worked with Platform from the very beginning and keeps a watchful eye on financial performance as our company continues to grow.
Journalist and communications specialist with more than 25 years’ experience in Perth and London. Editor of thewest.com.au from 2009 to 2016 and was part of a team that produced several award-winning digital presentations. Covered major international stories from London as European Correspondent for News Ltd. Through Chris’ extensive experience he has developed significant digital and traditional media experience, including as a website editor for seven years in the State’s biggest newsroom as well as experience in strategic planning and project management to meet organisational objectives.
Tim is a media professional with a wealth of experience across television, radio and digital platforms. Tim anchored Nine Perth’s weeknight news for five years and launched Perth’s first live and local morning bulletins, Today Perth News. Tim is an experienced MC and facilitator and currently works in radio and on several new media projects. As a journalist himself, Tim has a comprehensive understanding of how the media operates and what motivates journalists.
Tracey has more than 10 years’ experience in the media industry, specialising in business journalism, and has worked for The West Australian, Financial Times Business in London and WA Business News. In recent years she has crossed over into corporate communications and managed a monthly newsletter for BHP Billiton’s $8 billion expansion of Worsley Alumina Refinery. She brings a combination of writing experience, business knowledge and project management skills to her Senior Communications Consultant role at Platform.
Jo has over 10 years digital marketing experience, from both the UK and Sydney markets. Jo has designed and implemented successful digital and social media strategies, which drove significant reach, engagement and conversion to achieve KPIs.
Jo has built one of Australia’s largest, senior, professional community groups on LinkedIn.Through careful strategic planning and good project governance, Jo has launched and grown multiple director social media communities.

Candice is a strategic communications professional with more than 10 years’ experience providing communications support and advice to project teams, Executive Management and CEO’s. She has managed a broad range of communications initiatives, from major corporate rebrands to grass roots employee engagement efforts, and from crisis communications response to end-to-end event management.
Candice has worked both in house and as a contractor for large resource and mining services providers, including Alcoa, CITIC Pacific Mining, Synergy, MMG (Golden Grove) John Holland, Ausdrill and CFC Group. She has a unique insight into the internal communications issues faced by FIFO employees and contractors after spending time working onsite as the Communications Manager in the Mid West and Pilbara regions.
She has a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and the issues facing the resources sector. She knows how to effectively deliver valuable outcomes for our clients to enhance the reputations of and build advocates for their organisations.
Carina our Communications and Marketing Advisor has over 20 years’ experience across multiple industries, from owning her own business to playing key roles in large organisations. Carina has extensive expertise in public relations, business development, product marketing, issues management and strategic communications. With this diverse skill set, Carina ensures the most efficient and effective procedures and practices are developed and implemented to achieve optimal results. Carina takes a pragmatic and solutions-based approach to the task at hand and is focused on achieving and delivering the right outcomes for our customers.
Beth is a versatile journalist and communications professional who works with mining and industrial organisations to strengthen their connections to employees and communities, through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and the creation of publications, videos and large-scale graphics.
Through two decades running Main Event Media, Beth has gained an extensive knowledge of the Western Australian economy and developed long-term relationships with organisations including Worsley Alumina, Wespine, Simcoa Operations, Premier Coal and the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
She has worked in newspapers and radio, designed websites and spent seven years contracting to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety as Communications Manager for the South West Hub Carbon Capture and Storage Project – an investigation into a low emission technology option for industry.
Beth is an active volunteer on not-for-profit boards and will travel to distant galleries in search of great art.
Jane brings to the Platform team over thirty years’ experience providing strategic leadership, advice and outcomes to the government, corporate and community sector, particularly relating to regional education and workforce issues. She delivers strong partnerships with constructive outcomes, including analysis of risk and opportunities. Jane has substantial experience in reputational risk management through consultation and stakeholder engagement. She has an excellent understanding and networks within the resources and agriculture sector and long-standing experience and networks in regional development.
Michelle has more than 16 years’ experience in marketing and communications, where she has worked across the whole marketing mix including strategy development, brand development and management, campaign management, media management, event marketing and internal and external communications. Michelle has worked across a range of industries including publishing, engineering, exploration and mining and most recently banking.
She has experience working with large global brands as well as small to medium enterprises in both Perth and London.
Michelle is passionate about what she does and can achieve for companies always applying a strategic, creative and results driven approach to her work.
Examples include strategically raising the profile of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies, working with state and federal government to better communicate the challenges facing the mining industry and securing large media partnerships to promote conferences and exhibitions nationally.
Mark joined us as a Public Relations Officer after completing a three-month internship with Platform and is currently finishing off his final semester at ECU where he is completing a Bachelor of Media and Communications. Prior to his time at Platform, Mark has gained experience in event management, social media, creative writing and corporate communications.
He has advanced his communication and event management skillsets whilst working on events such as the Heritage Perth Weekend, the Hyde Park Fair and various corporate seminars for the Committee of the Economic Development of Australia. Mark has also been an active member of the Public Relations Student Chapter of ECU where he developed internal and external newsletters as well as coordinated numerous university events.
Mark’s understanding of the communications profession has allowed him to seamlessly shift into the resources industry where he works to provide unparalleled service to clients.
With a high level of attention to detail, Sandy has the ability to creatively convey ideas through text and image. Sandy is an important member of the Platform team and is an excellent project manager, regularly managing design tasks from start to finish.
Sandy has extensive experience across all aspects of design including websites, booths, presentations, brand and logo creation, image manipulation, digital, annual reports, corporate communication and event collateral.
Sandy has worked for a number of clients across various industries including resources, engineering, agricultural and land and realestate.
Graphic Designer Sarah possesses an eye for detail and superb organisational skills. She excels in Platform’s fast-paced design environment where she manages print and production specifications timelines and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Sarah has worked across clients such as BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron, Curtin University and Newmont Mining Corporation.
Richard has 20 years experience in the creative industries - as graphic designer, art director, creative director and producer of marketing campaigns, branded content and TV commercials.
