Just wrapped up an incredible day at the WIMWA (Women in Mining and Resources WA) conference here in Perth.

It was such a pleasure reconnecting with colleagues and friends from across the industry — some I’ve known for many years. Perth and WA’s resources sector really do feel like one big community, and events like this highlight just how strong and supportive that network is.

The calibre of speakers and topics was outstanding. What stood out most was not only the inspiration, but the practical, relatable advice we can take back into our workplaces.

The open and honest discussions reflected the real challenges and opportunities we face. In particular the beautifully spoken Mhairi Cameron, GM Operations at BCI.

Annabelle Crabb never fails to bring the gold and insights on engaging the moveable middle from PwC’s Elizabeth Shaw early in the day was highly engaging.

As a Dr Emily Musgrove fan, it was a thrill to hear her speak and smack us with the truth about uncertainty.

I loved Rio Tinto Exploration Director, Alison Morely’s take on the fractal nature of hope. It’s a powerful tool that moves us to action.

A huge thank you to the organisers, and everyone who shared their knowledge and experience — it was a privilege to be part of it.
