Yesterday, Platform CEO Kirsty Danby joined Associate Directors Peter Mizen and Chantel Cullen, and Senior ESG Consultant, Sarah Thomas, for the WA Mining Club’s November Luncheon.

The highlight of the event was a fireside chat led by Tim McMillan with Dale Henderson, CEO of PLS – a company that’s gone from humble explorer to global lithium powerhouse.

Dale shared insights into PLS’s extraordinary growth journey, from the Pilbara to Brazil, and spoke passionately about the exciting future of Australia’s critical minerals sector – a space full of opportunity, innovation, and investment potential.

The team were lucky to meet John Holmes, one of the founding PLS geologists and employee Number One!

Some key takeaways about the current lithium market are:
▪️ The lithium market continues to be highly volatile – strong EV-driven demand, alongside investment and supply dynamics, signals both future growth and potential supply gaps.
▪️PLS is pursuing independent growth through smart infrastructure investments and partnerships with chemical converters rather than automakers, capturing opportunities in both established and emerging areas like battery storage, green tech, and local processing.
▪️Government initiatives are focusing on shared infrastructure, including ports and power, while streamlining regulations to support industry development.
▪️Supply chain security is key to keeping Australia competitive.

As the lithium market continues to charge ahead, we can’t wait to see how innovation and investment will shape the next chapter of Australia’s critical minerals journey.
